Black 8" Compression Driver In-Ceiling Speaker

The OSD Black SKY CDX8 is a premium 2-way in-ceiling compression driver speaker designed to deliver powerful, evenly dispersed audio in large residential and commercial spaces. Combining an 8-inch high-sensitivity woofer with a 44mm compression driver tweeter, the SKY CDX8 produces detailed highs, strong vocal clarity, and impactful low-frequency performance for immersive listening.

High-Output Sound Performance

Designed for high ceilings and large listening areas, the SKY CDX8 delivers dynamic, room-filling audio with exceptional clarity, output, and efficiency. Engineered for high SPL applications, this 8-inch coaxial compression driver speaker combines a high-sensitivity woofer with a professional 1.75-inch compression driver to produce powerful direct sound, enhanced vocal intelligibility, and impactful full-range performance. Ideal for home theaters, retail spaces, restaurants, hospitality venues, conference rooms, auditoriums, and distributed audio systems requiring consistent high-output coverage.

Wide Dispersion Coverage

The engineered 120-degree coverage angle distributes sound evenly across large rooms and expansive installations while minimizing dead zones and inconsistent listening areas. Fewer speakers. Bigger coverage. The SKY CDX8 is optimized for open environments including reception areas, vaulted ceilings, gym spaces, staircases, convention centers, and other large-format applications where broad, uniform audio performance is essential.

Compression Driver Clarity

Unlike traditional ceiling speakers, the SKY CDX8 utilizes true compression driver technology with a 1-inch throat and directional horn design to deliver enhanced articulation, stronger vocal clarity, and greater output capability. The combination of the curved bass/mid driver and built-in crossover network provides smooth frequency transition, focused direct sound, and improved intelligibility even in acoustically challenging and high-ceiling environments.

Architectural Trimless Design

Architectural sound reinvented. A modern trimless magnetic grille creates a clean, low-profile appearance that integrates seamlessly into ceilings for a refined architectural finish. Built with commercial-grade durability and designed to complement luxury residential and professional interiors alike, the SKY CDX8 delivers commercial output with residential elegance.

Installation-Friendly Construction

Built for professional and custom installations, the SKY CDX8 features secure mounting hardware, a powder-coated aluminum grille, and an optimized in-ceiling form factor for efficient installation and reliable long-term performance. With a 9.65-inch cutout size and 5.3-inch mounting depth, the speaker is designed for seamless integration into residential and commercial environments while delivering the high efficiency and wide coverage required for demanding open-space audio applications.
