The XPA-6 Gen3 is a six-channel power amplifier that connects to an AV processor, stereo preamp, or an AV receiver with PRE OUT connections (RCA or XLR), then delivers high-current power to the speakers you assign it to.

It’s a natural fit for surround, height, and ceiling channels in Dolby Atmos and DTS:X systems, where receivers can start to sound strained when multiple channels hit at once. The XPA-6 ships with six High-Powered Single-Channel Class A/B modules installed and delivers 225 W/ch into 8 ohms or 350 W/ch into 4 ohms with all channels driven. Each channel supports balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA, selectable per channel.

And because it’s built on our XPA Gen3 modular platform, the chassis includes additional module slots for future expansion, so your amplifier can grow as your system grows (modules installed by Emotiva or an authorized service representative).

Modular Design
The XPA-6 Gen3 is built on our XPA Gen3 modular architecture, so it is more than a fixed six-channel amp. It ships with six High-Powered Single-Channel modules installed, and the additional module bays are for future expansion as your system grows.
Six Channels for Atmos
The XPA-6 is a natural match for surround, height, and ceiling speakers in Dolby Atmos and DTS:X systems. When multiple channels light up at once, these are often the first to sound thin or strained on receiver power. The XPA-6 gives those channels the headroom and control that helps keep the whole soundfield stable.
Class A/B Headroom
Each channel uses a fully discrete Class A/B amplifier module backed by a regulated high-current switch-mode power supply (SMPS) and Soft-Switch Optimized Class H operation. In plain terms, it delivers clean detail and strong dynamics, with the grip to stay controlled when the mix gets dense.
Flexible Inputs
Connect the XPA-6 to an AV processor, stereo preamp, or an AVR with PRE OUT connections, then choose balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA per channel using the rear-panel input selector switches. It is an easy way to add serious multi-channel amplification without replacing the gear you already like.
Built-In Protection
Microprocessor-controlled protection is designed to stay transparent during normal listening, yet guard against common fault conditions. A resettable rear-panel circuit breaker helps protect against AC line issues, and the XPA-6 Gen3 is backed by our full five-year warranty.

Note: The values shown refer to the amount of power the amplifier would consume while playing test tones continuously, on all channels, at full power, into a load bank. Therefore, they are not at all characteristic of what you would expect when playing music or the soundtrack from a movie. Normal audio signals are dynamic, so the amount of power they require from second to second varies widely, and the average is far lower than this. With normal content, even playing very loudly, one of our amplifiers will consume far less power than indicated in the chart, so these values should not be considered to be a circuit requirement for normal operation.
