Multiroom
The same playlist in the kitchen and on the terrace, or something different in every room.
One system brings music to every room, from the kitchen to the terrace. Each room plays on its own or joins the others, all from one app, with the equipment out of sight.

What is multiroom?
Multiroom means one music system for the whole home. Each room has its own speakers, but they all share the same sources and the same app.
- Speakers in as many rooms as you like
- One song everywhere, or a different one in each room
- Equipment out of sight, in one cupboard
- One app on every phone in the family

Multiroom in brief
Play one song through every room for a party, keep the kitchen and terrace together at breakfast, or give each room its own music. The equipment stays out of sight, and the speakers can sit in the ceiling, so all you notice is the music.
One source, every room
One source feeds each room, and you choose which ones play. The same song stays in step from the kitchen to the terrace.

Sound is shown as one note, slowed about 150 times, so you can see it move.
- 01The source stays out of sight, and each room has its own speakers.
- 02Group rooms to suit the moment: one for breakfast, the whole home for a party.
- 03It all runs from one app, with nothing new to learn.
What makes one system feel simple
- 01
Rooms that stay in step
Grouped rooms play the same song at the same moment, so you can walk through the home without hearing an echo.
- 02
Your own level in each room
Every room has its own volume, so the kitchen can be lively while the study stays quiet, on the same song.
- 03
Equipment out of sight
Amplifiers sit in one ventilated cupboard. All you see in a room is a slim grille in the ceiling, or nothing at all.
- 04
A network built for it
Music is only as steady as the network. We plan wired connections and Wi-Fi coverage with the audio, not after it.

Room guide
A wired system needs two amplifier channels for each stereo room, so the count follows the rooms. One OSD Nero MX1250 has 12.
| Home | Rooms | Speakers | Amplifier channels |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apartment | 3 | 6 | 6 |
| Townhouse | 6 | 12 | 12 |
| Villa | 12 | 24 | 24 |
How we do it
- 01
Map the home
We walk the rooms with you and list which ones should play together.
- 02
Plan the cable
New builds get wired speakers. Finished homes can mix wired and wireless.
- 03
Install and group
Speakers go in, then rooms are named and grouped the way you use them.
- 04
Hand over
We set up the app on your phones, and show the family how to use it.
One system, every room
Streamers and in-ceiling speakers share one network, so each room plays on its own or joins the others.
Questions
5
Do I need new wiring?
Not always. Wireless speakers suit finished homes; wired zones suit new builds and renovations.
Wired or wireless?
Wired is the most reliable and hides everything. Wireless suits finished homes. Most systems can use both.
Can each room play something different?
Yes. Rooms can play their own music, or group together for the same song.
Can the terrace join in?
Yes, with outdoor speakers on the same system. See the Outdoor page for how to keep sound in the garden.
What if the internet goes down?
Streaming services stop, but music stored at home and connected sources can keep playing.
Three ways to build it
